April Newsletter

Hi there!

I know it’s the first day of May but this is technically our April newsletter :-)

In March we attended Meet Florida Meat and we met a ton of new people! Since so many of them have signed up for our newsletter I thought I’d do a quick re-introduction of who we are.

We bought our herd of cows in 2021 and purchased the farm in 2022. When Dan and I met we both wanted to farm but we lived in Central FL. Dan grew up on a cattle farm in England and l grew up in the middle of dairy farms in upstate NY. We purchased a house on 2.5 acres and farmed on a small scale growing produce and selling at farmers markets, sold and delivered eggs, and also had a small nursery. All the while we were looking for our forever farm.

Almost 12 years together and 5 kids later and we are living our dream! We have 35 head of cattle, give or take, and 2 dairy cows. We are sending 1-2 steers per month to butcher. And selling it all direct-to-consumer!

The big tractor is doing a great job discing up the fields. The old pine stumps are breaking up and decomposing. Once the stumps are fully composted we will work on planting diverse, native pastures and begin rotationally grazing for regeneration. We are also planning to add chickens that will go behind the cows to aid in building soil health.

Our April steer is sold out. In May we will have whole-cow ground beef shares available and June has only a quarter left. We are taking reservations for July & August now as well.

We are loving the longer days and warm sunshine, but we could use some rain! Thankfully we still have plenty of hay and all the cows are all as happy as can be.

Thank you all again for visiting our booth at Meet Florida Meat and thank you to our new customers. We can’t wait to get y’all your beef!

And as always we thank everyone for their support!

Blessings to you all,

Hello and Happy New Year! January has been cold so far in North Florida and we have flurries forecasted for next week! 🥶 ❄️ Our cows are getting plenty of hay and that’s the most important thing in keeping them warm. Their stomachs act as a furnace so as long as they have forage in front of them, they will stay warm! The calves also love to sleep in the hay. We will have beef available every month this year. And we are off to a great start - we are almost sold out through March. If you know...
