February Newsletter

Hi there!

We have been full speed ahead here at the farm. We have sent 3 steers to the butcher already. These have been big and beautiful - averaging 725lbs hanging. And the beef coming back is delicious!

Next month we will be at Meet Florida Meat in Mt Dora. We can’t wait to meet new customers and say hello to our existing ones! Come by and see us!!

We have purchased a big old John Deere 8440 to add to our fleet. This tractor is going to be instrumental in discing the fields that are full of stumps from our pine tree harvest in 2023. We’ve let the stumps rot for a year and now we will disc them in. They will continue to rot and add to our overall soil heath. After discing then we will roll and seed. This is a huge step towards our goals of intensive rotational grazing!

As always, thank you for supporting our farm! And if you know anyone looking for beef, please forward them this email, our Facebook page, or my phone number.

Blessings to you all,

Hi there! I know it’s the first day of May but this is technically our April newsletter :-) In March we attended Meet Florida Meat and we met a ton of new people! Since so many of them have signed up for our newsletter I thought I’d do a quick re-introduction of who we are. We bought our herd of cows in 2021 and purchased the farm in 2022. When Dan and I met we both wanted to farm but we lived in Central FL. Dan grew up on a cattle farm in England and l grew up in the middle of dairy farms in...

Hi there! It’s starting to feel like spring around the farm, especially this last week. The leaves are budding out on the trees and our grass is green and starting to grow. The cows are very happy about that! We will be at Meet Florida Meat in Mt Dora THIS WEEKEND! We can’t wait to meet new customers and say hello to our existing ones. Come by and see us!! https://facebook.com/events/s/meet-florida-meat-2025/1039817871480373/ We have added a couple of Jersey cows to the farm. They belonged to...

Hello and Happy New Year! January has been cold so far in North Florida and we have flurries forecasted for next week! 🥶 ❄️ Our cows are getting plenty of hay and that’s the most important thing in keeping them warm. Their stomachs act as a furnace so as long as they have forage in front of them, they will stay warm! The calves also love to sleep in the hay. We will have beef available every month this year. And we are off to a great start - we are almost sold out through March. If you know...
