Hi there! I hope you all had a great 4th of July yesterday! We kept it low key, a small cookout with my Mom and hanging by the pool. It has been HOT! We had no rain in June, it was all around us but we kept getting skipped. Finally a little over a week ago our daily thunderstorms returned and our fields are loving it! The grass is green and growing nicely again. This is our first summer since we harvested all our pines and we are excited to see how the fields grow! Dan just picked up two older John Deere tractors that him and the boys are working on. These are great additions to our farm. We have a really big tractor and a compact tractor and these 2 will fill the gap. Now that the pines are out we have lots of work to do to turn our farm into a regenerative, rotational grazing operation. We have also secured a hay lease! We will be getting our first cutting off it in a few weeks. This will be all natural hay, no chemical sprays, which is hard to find in our area. The fields our cows graze are all natural but sourcing a high quality, no spray hay has been pretty much impossible and it's one area we wanted to improve on so we're excited about that. We have ONE share left for September 13th pick up at L&W in Madison, FL. If you're interested, please reach out. We also offer delivery to the butcher of your choice on a whole share. Hi there! It’s starting to feel like spring around the farm, especially this last week. The leaves are budding out on the trees and our grass is green and starting to grow. Hi there! We have been full speed ahead here at the farm. We have sent 3 steers to the butcher already. These have been big and beautiful - averaging 725lbs hanging. Hello and Happy New Year! January has been cold so far in North Florida and we have flurries forecasted for next week! 🥶 ❄️ Our cows are getting plenty of hay and that’s the most important thing in keeping them warm. Their stomachs act as a furnace so as long as they have forage in front of them, they will stay warm! The calves also love to sleep in the hay. We will have beef available every month this year.
